     @branman65 @bleedingphoenix It may be a puppet, but it's mimicking the design of a Western conception of a robot. I don't hate this thing at all, but I want all true attempts at "sentient" AI to die. A topic for another thread perhaps.

     @BowsacNoodle @bleedingphoenix besides that is an animatronic which isautomaton but with mechatronics instead of clockwork, basically a puppet that plays itself. it's not a robot.

     @BowsacNoodle @branman65 truly sentient AI is a myth, but machines can certainly be autonomous and personable. and when they are, they can certainly be good.

     @bleedingphoenix @branman65 Perhaps. I believe it's better to approach machine autonomy with great skepticism. Unfortunately we have global tragedy of the commons and some goobers are going to make a dangerous automaton.
