Simplify our content policies and remove restrictions on topics like immigration and gender that are out of touch with mainstream discourse.Move our trust and safety and content moderation teams out of California, and our US content review to Texas. This will help remove the concern that biased employees are overly censoring content. If your instance is federating with threads... stop. In case it isn't clear, this is literally "we're going to be more explicitly regressive and right wing." Remove restrictions on immigration and gender that are "out of touch with mainstream discourse"? The "mainstream discourse" on these topics is really bad (it's also not truly mainstream, but I assure you he means the hateful rhetoric).
And moving their safety and content mod teams to Texas? Not only is this the state that tried to change the language in history books to describe enslaved people from Africa as "workers" (!!! https://web.archive.org/web/20250104193254/https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/06/us/publisher-promises-revisions-after-textbook-refers-to-african-slaves-as-workers.html)... well, that should be enough really, yeah? But Texas... I don't know enough about existing reporting pipelines inside Meta to know whether or not they already forward stuff like "discussions of abortions" to Texas law enforcement but if they don't, I have to wonder if this won't make it much easier for Abbot, et al, to request that discussions about abortion and gender marker changes be forwarded to law enforcement.
Seriously, get the fuck off Threads and defed that shit.
