Actually what I meant is exactly what you wrote. I am sad to see people using Fedora (or any OS) superficially, for no particular reason. I am a big supporter of highly opinionated and conscious adoption of operating systems.

I admire Debian because of its intrinsic political positioning, even though if you ask me what is the actual difference between it and Fedora I could not name anything more than the package manager and the release type.
