   I thought I had made some kind of peace with the election. But remembering back to four years ago, a day in which everyone on both sides of the political aisle recoiled in horror, knowing it was one of the most shameful days in our history...

   I can't believe this country put that motherfucker back in office.

   I'll never really get over it.

     @kims I have a lot of symnpathy for Americans who are having to face up to the reality of what their country actually is.

     We've had to do it in the UK too. It's not pretty.

     We spent a long time and effort pretending that we were in some way morally decent deep down, that our wars, and infliction of poverty, and racism, and power imbalances, and ecocide were somehow weird aberations.

     But in fact, that is exactly who we are. And - as no doubt you know - so is the US.

     Horrible. But true.
