   The long slow sunsetting of retro.social (don't worry I'm not going anywhere for a good while) begins today!

   I'm setting up my new gotosocial instance.

   These two instances will live in parallel so long as I have people who use retro and I decide to keep maintaining retro as a mastodon instance, but I am likely to move at least a majority of my posting over to GTS and may also migrate my follows/followers over there, I might not. We'll see!

     Mastodon has fostered a really great community, but the project is moving in directions that I don't particularly care for, has been doing so for a while, and shows no signs of stopping.

     So I'm going to split my time for a bit, and see if the grass grows a little slower on gts.

     @ajroach42 Ironically, the web browser built into the Mastodon app on iOS was not able to connect to the gotosocial.org site, but I was able to connect with iOS Safari. Thanks for the info.

     Fewer features, but choices that make more sense for my values compared to mastodon.
