Lol the 5090 is rumoured to have a power draw of 575W on its own. No thanks. Not that I’m really the target market for these willy-waving cards but come on. So much of it is just converted straight to heat anyway, what a waste

Every gigantic PSU and huge water cooling system is just a billboard saying “the components in this PC are wasteful AF and no-one could be bothered to do better”. Apple may be wedged directly up their own bumhole most days but at least they’re trying something different to “screw it just make it bigger and hotter”

@sinbad They have a new server chip that is 3/4 GPU. It’s pretty awesome in that you can get immediate speedups porting code to GPU one function at a time (no memcpy to amortize). But it burns 750W… and you can have 4 sockets per motherboard.
