Which e-book reader / e-reader is the most sustainable / ethical?
I assume FOSS & open hardware / firmware is a high priority so it's easy to repair and maintain. There may be other factors.
I have an Inkplate 6 (open hardware based on salvaged Kindle parts) and supposedly it is possible to turn it into a usable e-book reader: https://hackaday.com/2021/08/20/inkplate-comes-full-circle-becomes-true-open-reader/
I haven't tried this yet, it's on my to-do list.
I find its reliance on Kindle parts concerning. Anything more independent?
