   So, I disputed my previous landlord's deductions from my deposit. Was awarded fully in my favor:

   the tenancy agreement [...] makes no provision for the taking of a deposit [and] does not contain a deposit clause setting out the permitted purposes for which the tenants’ deposit monies could be used following the end of the tenancy

     Whilst [...] a deposit [...] had been registered, irrespective of the content of any evidence submitted to support the landlord’s claim [...], in the absence of a deposit clause I am unable to apply the tenants’ deposit monies towards the remedying of any breach [...]. I therefore make no award.

     This is the same landlord that needed four tries to get a section 21 (no fault eviction) notice right.
