I got this neat thing now, instead of always showing all 3 HVAC devices. I haven't tested it yet, but the tab that shows by default should be set by it being hot or cold outside!
Yes, there is a stupid bug on the hydrostatic plug the humidifier is plugged in to. When it's not running, as in adding humidity, it becomes "unavailable". Since I can now make virtual hydrostats, I am probably going to replace it with a smart plug and just use my existing temp and humidity sensor.
It's a bug in the stupid plug itself! It does that crap on it's "official" app as well. I hate that thing!
When it cycles on, I can change the settings again!
@ScriptFanix Home Assistant on Home Assistant Green (kigrated from a big, old, power hungry desktop computer).
Home Assistsnt's generic hydrostat does have a dehumidifier mode! Get a cheap, analog dehumidifier, plug it in to a smart switch, add a humidity sensor, and via la.
@ScriptFanix I remembered that hydrostatic plug exposes it's relay. So I killed off the humidifier, and made a virtual one that turns that relay on and off, using my humidity sensor. Maybe now it won't keep going "unavaailable"
@ScriptFanix My Zigbee stuff rarely gives me trouble. It's my WiFi crap that gives me headaches. Been getting any new stuff signed whenever possible ever since I got SkyConnect a while back
@hellomiakoda Good to know! Yeah, I was planning on buying a dumb dehumidifier and one of those ZigBee plugs, I already have a bunch around, really useful
