     @BowsacNoodle @whiteman_ Amen! but as an aside, what is the orthodox guy with the elaborate pattern on his garment supposed to be? is he some sort of monk or clergyman? Because when I think of orthodox priests I think of like pic related.

     @branman65 @whiteman_ The black robe you know is the cassock or rason, analogous to the priestly collar of some denominations, worn for ascetic reasons and memento mori. A lot of them wear that at all times outside their home, but at the very least under their vestments.

     @Crux_Invictus @whiteman_ The "fire resist set" (actually feast days of martyrs and The Resurrection) is very cool looking. The black vestments would be for during Great Fast @branman65 but most of the pictures you'll see of priests will be of just cassocks assuming they're not in liturgy.

     @branman65 @BowsacNoodle @whiteman_ It's the robes of the Great Schema, the highest order of monasticism within Orthodoxy. I believe there are only ever a few monks in the order at any given time.
     
     "The ultimate goal of a Monk is the Order of the Great Schema (or Angelic Habit). One who aspired to that dignity usually struggled for many years in the monastic life and often it was not conferred until the end of a Monk's life. Those who reached that state usually spent the rest of their lives in complete seclusion and silence within the Monastery or a specially-prepared Skete or Hermitage, where laymen could not enter even to pray."

     @branman65 @Crux_Invictus @whiteman_ Before I had begome xDDD, I didn't understand why priest garbs in vidja weren't plain cloaks. Makes sense seeing high liturgical vestments.
