For years, I've been saying that the era of Detroit, Stuttgart, and Tokyo with the global auto industry is coming to an end.
Legacy auto has long been missing the mark with the shift to electric and with cars-becoming-computers. They've become fat on SUVs, have failed to innovate, and don't have the digital bench strength - they are a Kodak in the era of Apple. On the other hand - China? Big on electric - and they get digital.
In that context, read this post by Bob Lefsetz - one of the smartest guys I know. Been following him for 30 years. He's ALWAYS right.
