     It was a celebration of joy and solidarity and at the same time a powerful demonstration of what the people think of this government. One can only imagine how the members of the government celebrate New Year's Eve in isolation and grimly while the people celebrate exuberantly. (2/4) #GeorgiaProtests

     While complete strangers wished each other a happy new year, chants demanding new elections or the release of prisoners could be heard again and again. Georgian flags and the EU flag were everywhere. Later, President Salome Zourabichvili walked past the dinner table. (3/4) #GeorgiaProtests

     I am sure: No matter how the conflict with the authoritarian government turns out, this New Year's Eve will go down in the history of Georgia and be remembered as the celebration of a new democratic Georgia. (4/4) #GeorgiaProtests
