   Today I was at the #MetropolitanMuseumOfArt. This is Paul Pourer’s kimono-inspired dress from la Belle Epoque. Before Chanel, Poiret liberated women from corsets by I troducing these kind of relaxed, drapery dresses.

     This is another kimono-inspired dress I liked. The sailor-ish collar is so pretty? (i don’t see this style at all with modern clothing…except for some Japanese school girls’ uniform). Circa 1920’s.

     This is more recent dress by Issey Miyake. He knew how to work with materials…spectacular. (Also a bit Halloweenesque.)

     This one is by Hanae Mori from 1960’s. I love the contrast of orange, cream and subdued purple. Such a combination…but so elegant!!
