     1. Signal is free and open source.
     2. Signal in not decentralized.
     3. You still need telephone number to register.
     4. Kind of, but OpenAI is currently transitioning to being for profit company.

     Is signal free open source and decentralized?

     Wasn't OpenAI also non profit?
