Use encrypted comms platforms like Signal everywhere you can. ESPECIALLY for banal and innocuous stuff like organizing your little league team or your neighborhood potluck or your coworker's lunch bunch. The more people using encrypted comms platforms for absolutely boring things, the easier it is for those of us to NEED encrypted comms to be lost in the noise.

@jdoe Yeah, I moved to it with all my friends and family, because they'd be the first folks I talk to for help. But if I'd been talking to them on encrypted comms for months or years, it's way less suspicious

@JessTheUnstill Exactly! And you never know when that moment may hit you - usually, when it hits you into your face it's already too late to undo the harm. So, when it happens it's better to be on the safer side.
Chances are you're never gonna need that much protection. And it's okay, no loss here.
