   Played through the Devil May Cry reboot over the last few days and it was awesome. Not a perfect game by any means but the combat was fantastic. I'm not even sure why they decided to make it non-canon to the original series because it could easily fit in as DMC0 with the timeline of events. All they needed to do was change Mundus to some other villain but whatever. Surprisingly good game.

     @c well mostly the fact that it makes the actual devils lame, dante being a foulmouthed short-tempered hothead teen is fine, after all nobody hated nero in dmc4, but a fucking ancient devil cussing like a 12 year old during a playground argument is fucking stupid

     I do get that it's different but it's not egregious IMO. Making Dante a delinquent punk rocker in his youth is a bit lame but it was the worst thing I saw. Vergil was neat, starting as an almost rich boy hands-off mindset and then the DLC making him go full psycho maniac, thought that was neat. What am I missing?

     Yeah the succubus cutscenes and then Mundus fucking his demon hoe were a bit over the top and ridiculous, that's def true. The game could have done with that.

     @c i wouldn't say over the top because dmc is inherently over the top, rather it was trying too hard to 1up the previous games in coolness and maturity

     @c ya as far as memory serves me the only occurence of any cussing in dmc was a gameplay line from nero, where he'd say fuck you after using devil bringer on an alto angelo, besides that the only mainline game cussing came in dmc5 really, and even then it was mostly from nero

     Well, it went from over the top cool/edgy/violent stunts to over the top dialogue. I don't think any prior game had absurd cursing like that scene or even the implied sex.
