   There's this idea for #inkscape UX that I can't stop thinking about. The suggestion is... using the caps lock.

   So the suggestion was that some of the difficulty we have we sharing modifier keys could be alleviated if *some* of the functionality was a mode of the caps lock that when on would change the behaviour of some transformation and moving processes.

   It sounds like both a terrible idea and a really interesting idea at the same time and I'm torn.

   Imagine the CL fixed the ratio?

     @baltakatei @doctormo @Triffen Not an eMacs user, but yeah, CapsLock is Ctrl on all my systems.

     Other programs (eg. PowerPoint, gods help me) use Shift to fix the ratio of items when resizing.

     @doctormo @Triffen As a Debian/Ubuntu user, I already always remap caps lock to left control to relieve pinky strain and facilitate Emacs usage (which makes heavy use of control keys). So, the physical caps lock key is one of my most heavily used keys already.
