If there’s one thing I’ve relearned after being back in the US after a month in Europe is that Europeans work to live, and Americans live to work. In retrospect, I guess maybe that’s why I was so attracted to being a Deadhead after living as a teen in France. I think Phish folk are like that too. We’ve worked to “tour” so that we can really live. #gratefuldead #phish

We had talks about it with locals in Nederlands, France, and Italy. The French were the most scared but understood as they’ve got a right nationalist faction with LePen who almost won there. The Italians (young students from university of Bologna) had the most surprising attitude. They thought him necessary to make Europe more independent. They were very far left kids (which there is popular communist party)

2dogphish (2dogphish@shakedown.social)'s status on Wednesday, 25-Dec-2024 07:49:55 JST 2dogphish During your month in Europe, what was the feel you got from Europeans about this disastrous election and the coming years of dealing w/the incoming regime? I assume they all think we are psychotic idiots (because so many of us are)?
Minoru Saba repeated this.
