   @kaia i think he finds a good balance between what people want to see (BASED and EPIC PWNAGE of stupid homes of people who are richer than me so they must be stupid) and what he actually brings to the table (real knowledge of how a house should be laid out so that you have a great experience living there)

     but in all the videos I have not seen a single home I'd actually like to live in. even in the one Arvin liked the most.

     @kaia i guess one issue is that they mostly show these huge mansions where you pretty much need to have a whole entourage of people to have it even make any sense.

     @lain Americans have weird design decisions. I wouldn't want my servants living on the same level as myself or their rooms have the same crappy finishes as my room has. also I wouldn't want a visible kitchen. or the weird open design where folks can look in from outside at night.

     @kaia I’ll tell you the secret that makes more sense of it: most of these homes are rapper or basketball player homes, I.e. houses for people who got rich while coming from the gangsta rap aesthetic ideal. They are not really meant to be lived in.

     @billiam @kaia these days even billionaires don’t need a chef, they have Uber just as everybody else. So many of these houses are just made for an idea that doesn’t exist anymore

     @lain @kaia watched a few of his videos. It is interesting to see how the ultra rich live. Some of the tips he gives are good, but a lot of it isn't practical for people of normal wealth.
     
     We don't have private chefs to cook or maids to clean our houses.
     We might have to do maintenance or repairs ourselves.
