#BirdFlu is killing 2-5% of infected cows and cutting milk production by 20%. 875 herds across 16 states are spreading the bird flu back and forth between flocks. Workers are being thrown into cull infected flocks without protective equipment and being infected. Surveillance is inadequate. Market actors that might know better refuse to do their part without state insurance from losses for it, plenty more don't when the state does.

Human infections are going unreported.
