   @ajroach42 I understand how this feels. I got quietly written out of Thanksgiving a few years back. I wasn't even graced with a reason why.

   And then there's the time my brother and his wife took my niece...the only "next generation" member of my entire family...up to Atlanta, never even told me, and then posted about it all over Facebook like I wouldn't find out.

   It's hard being written off the page. But here we are. It's cold comfort, but you're welcome at my table, and I'm proud of you.

     My dad just informed me that, for literally the first time in my life, I will not see him on Christmas day.

     For the last twenty years or so, he and my step mother have hosted a christmas morning breakfast. This year, she decided that she's not up for it, their house is too small, and if folks want to see them on christmas morning, they can go to her son's house.

     Her son is a giant, proud bigot. I despise him, and won't set foot in his home. She knows this.

     Dad has known for weeks that this would be the case. He told me today.
