   It doesn't feel stable to me since many of the people I've been most excited to see here aren't happy and end up leaving too often.

     I think if more people simply understood that the fediverse isn't (yet) a place where many people can feel comfortable and connected... and that this isn't because they are "using it wrong" but rather, because we simply do not have the critical mass and diversity needed to support the conversations they care about.

     Understanding this is why some people like me care about where big popular account end up. That's why I care if more people go to BlueSky than here.

     Thanks. Sorry for all the questions. Are there things I can do, as an average nerdy mastodon user, to make things better? I don't know where my blind spots are. I'll try to help if I can.

     Are they looking for specific people (friends, relatives, etc.) or just people who share their interests?

     @catselbow @futurebird @keefeglise Don't just refrain from being an HOA asshole, but complain loudly when you see others do it and assure their targets "No, it's cool, you didn't do anything wrong. That person's just a jerk."
