@SueDiOh @midgephoto Nobody's suing because if you want to sue someone in the UK you can kiss goodbye to £100,000 just to start with in legal fees that you *might* recover, if you win ... and your average novelist earns roughly £12,000 a year. Going up against a company with deep pockets like OpenAI in court is a recipe for driving yourself into bankruptcy.

@cstross What about the publishers? They have some proprietary rights, too, don't they? They put a lot of money into getting books on shelves. Only to have the contents stolen?
