   @root42 My father bought a #ZX81 when I was five years old, and I have been hooked on computers ever since...

   The membrane keyboard on ours broke fairly early on, so we got a replacement keyboard with real keys.

   I also remember that we got the 4K RAM expansion, which my father modified to do 16K by stacking(!) RAM chips on top of each other.

   Unfortunately, ours died horribly many years ago. It was a fun little machine.

     And there it is: the humble Sinclair ZX81. A 1KB, Z80 based machine from 1981. This particular one from 1982. It is in generally good condition, works, but keyboard is broken. The membrane is breaking to bits, as you can see. So a replacement membrane is on order. Also the image quality is terrible, this machine will get a composite mod.
