>poasts constantly about how Trump is gonna do mass deportations fr this time >deportation rhetoric gets walked back by admin immediately >calls people who point this out "blackpilled" >changes the subject entirely Straight off the cob
>blackpilling over stupid things >stupid things That stupid thing that was like. Half his fuckin' campaign that he's walking back before he's even in office?
Deportations. He ran on deportations. Deportations for people here illegally. What does it tell you that, after he's been elected, but before he's even in office, his admin is making caveats to that?
Where was the talk of "uhh we'll only really do it for some *violent* criminals though, tee hee!" Before? He ran with deportation being a *very popular* part of his platform. He has the mandate. Why are caveats being added?
@doctorsex@abner indeed you should believe in the tooth fairy before an american politician.
There is plenty of evidence that many of these people will *make an attempt* to do just this. The main reason not to believe it is because every piece of ZOG is going to try and resist it.
@doctorsex@abner You have to think about what the possibilities for the next 4 years are.
This isn't going to be 2016 redux, simply because we have a weak economy: prices are through the roof, wages are stagnant, tons of layoffs. All the jobs in the last few years have gone to POC, which basically means invaders.
Penny just got off in NYC of all places because people are getting past tired of all the drugs, homelessness and violence.
Inflation isn't tamed, and all the forecasts for how fast the rate will cut have been revised multiple times. This is going to put further pressure on finance as people have been praying that rates will come down. Rates for Residential Loans are still extremely high. There is reasonable concern that lowering the fed rates now will cause a reacceleration of inflation.
The main reason not to believe it is because these people are liars, and they have a literal proven track record of overpromising and underdelivering by a massive margin specifically on this thing.
What even is your angle here anyways "Yeah you're still probably not going to get anything *close* to what you wanted on immigration, but stop blackpilling" Uh, ok man
@doctorsex@abner My angle is: don't blackpill. Be realistic, and foreword thinking. Blackpilling leads to a cycle of euphoria where you get hyped, then let down, repeat ad nauseum.
@doctorsex@abner what's realistic is that they are certainly going to start with violent illegals, because that is the group that will give them the least sob stories. But the media will almost certainly try to find as many as they can to try and impeded any action. No coverage will be given to the negatives of what those illegals were doing.
All sorts of government workers at all levels will try their best to prevent every deportation from happening.
Until such a point that people hindering that became something that was publicly seen as a bad thing, it won't matter.
It's not like progressives would be shamed from supporting a violent illegal that raped babies. It's just like that now.
I think people are far more likely to get into that euphoria-> despair cycle when they continuously fall for the work that is electoral politics. I believe that because I saw it happen on pretty much every single major issue during Trump's first time, and plenty of other even smaller things. I don't think false hope and plan trusting are helpful. I think what's helpful is encouraging people to get their shit together. Get your life in order. The stuff that you do have an immediate capability to control and improve? Get moving on that. Mitch mcconnel is not coming to save you. Your neighbors though, they might. But only if you build those bridges.
@doctorsex@abner Yes, no elected federal, or seemingly state politicians give a shit about you. The only obvious way to make them care now is transactional politics.
Fuck me man, we are not doing this shit again where just because something has even a remote chance of being "possible" I should consider it with equal weight to what is likely.
You're also jumping to this completely unrelated point about inflation and interest rates. I'm talking about immigration and deportations and you jump over to talking about the economy. It's a non-sequiter. If you feel these points are connected, you need to explain how or why, I'm not gonna fill in the blanks on your own thoughts for you.
