     To be fair, you can't on most phones nowadays. Funnily enough, now it's almost only the expensive phones you can unlock. Poor people always have to pay somehow, I suppose.

     let us not forget those black market phones that ship to africa. usually carrier unlocked phones that fell off the back of a truck (or mule wagon)
