Monterey always has a special place in my heart because when we moved to the Bay Area from Singapore, we also brought our dog Cookie. Cookie had lived only in Singapore / Malaysia so dog-friendly travel was never on the cards. We put her on 2 flights to San Francisco, in the cabin, and almost immediately brought her with us to Monterey. She had so much fun napping in a dog friendly hotel in all her blankets. I loved that first ‘travel’ with her, here

Especially staying in the Cypress Inn (Doris Day's hotel). Sooooo dog friendly.
That was a former life, now, but it was fun to live like a rich(er) person for a while.
