Just changed my password on Ryona to over 60 characters long, once I can figure out how to do it, I will also put TOTP 2FA on this account, similar to what I will do for all of my other accounts. I've been going through and changing passwords for quite a while, so I might as well make all of my accounts secure as well. I've used unique passwords for each site for ages, but I've only recently decided to force each password to be 64+ characters long, OR, the maximum allowed length. In the future, I may just delete accounts even for forums I enjoy, but for now, borderline-schizo levels of security should be enough for what I will actually need.

@DigitalCheese it would be hilarious if you actually never used this account ever again after this

@lina wouldn't happen unless I managed to not only self-host my own instance, but managed to make it federate onto Tor, I2P, and other non-clearnet instances. Although I'd put TOTP 2FA + extremely long passwords on the new fedi instance's account too.

@lina trve. I am probably going to encounter that anyways but on forum accounts rahter than fediverse. I stay logged in for long enough that even having to login each day isnt too big of a problem. The sites I use daily will be logged in until i turn off my laptop, the sites i use rarely wont be a big deal to login to by then, so whatever, maximum security for all of them.

I'll probably just not make *too* many accounts going forward especially before i can clear most of my existing ones (i.e. anything not important), but accounts i do make should have more security. Getting used to my website, the emails, IRC servers, the fediverse, and Mumble is the best idea to mitigate the need for 30 gorillion accounts.

Perhaps, I should go further than that, such as full disk encryption on a ThinkPad T20 or something insane like that but eh whatever.
