some years ago i was a vocalist in a little local metal band. ive always had a lower toned voice, and i had some unrelated nerve damage at another point in my life and my voice might have gotten a little lower then but what it mostly did was get raspier. partial vocal fold paralysis and all that. anyway, my voice is on par with a lot of other low-toned women -- courtney laplante, florence pugh are good examples.

and sometimes i get sir'd or man'd or dude'd on the phone or drivethrus.
