   Totally out of the blue. During the Weimar hyperinflation, Roving bands of arms men would steal cattle and crafts as the population in the cities starved to death while others mob incoming ships, deport or sugar, flour, butter, and bacon..

     Officials are investigating the disappearance of 180 cattle after several ranchers along the Western Slope reporting them missing.

     Whether cattle thieves are to blame is unknown.

     Anyone with information can contact the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office at 970-249-9110.
