     @sun when I was a kid my mother subscribed to Uptime, a monthly "magazine" distributed on floppy disk, 360KB DS/DD in our case. it was annoying to try to get the software off it bc they used a special compressed format + loader.

     Free software is distributed over the internet, via free software, although you can ask anyone to mail you a copy on a floppy disk.
