    Are there more #mobile devices (except for #pinephone series) where you don't have to request root unlocking from the manufacturer?

      @lk108 @shegeley @Fairphone thanks for the info!! I didn't know that, it was kind of a question from my end as I understood it was easy relatively easy to replace the system.

      @lk108 @shegeley @Fairphone thanks, I hope that process will continue to work properly. I don't have a smartphone myself, but such a dependency doesn't seem good.

      I tried to help somebody in a similar situation with a Xiaomi device, but their mechanism to get the unlock code seems to be broken for their device which means it's stuck on an old system which now cannot replaced.

      @jschwart It is easy and clearly described, I've done it myself. Also, Fairphone seems to support alternative mobile OSes in some way, so that's great. But you do have to enter IMEI and serial number to get the unlock code. @shegeley @Fairphone
