@gpilz @evacide Vax mandate isn't a violation of bodily autonomy. Not having one is: exposing everyone else's bodies to involuntary modification by viruses.

If you need to honor the bodily autonomy of those who refuse, you can offer them parallel services where they only infect each other not everyone else, and still ban them from spaces where their presence would violate others' bodily autonomy.

@evacide Our culture could not live by any reasonable application of the right to bodily autonomy. Among the areas affected would be:

      1. Drug prohibitions.
      2. Vaccine mandates for public schools.
      3. Conscription.
      4. Circumcision.

@gpilz For points 3 & 4, conscription and circumcision are not remotely necessary for society to function. They're bullshit of authoritarians who should have died out a century ago.

@gpilz @evacide Vaccine mandates are hard to justify under a framework of absolute bodily autonomy, but the others are easy.

Drug prohibitions should be lifted. Drug abuse is a public health problem and should be handled in that framework.

Conscription should not only be stopped, it should be explicitly prohibited. That “selective service” lasted so long should be seen as a national embarrassment.

Circumcision of infants should be illegal. It’s not the parents’ call. If an adult wants to be circumcised for religious reasons, that’s their decision to make.
