@nasu XMPP is superior in almost every way and I'm not sure why it never truly caught on or never found resurgence whilst, meanwhile, we get dumpster-fires like Matrix. @Inginsub

@adiz @Tadano @nasu gajim generally works, except when it breaks and stops working, but dino won't even let me turn off notification sounds. gajim also doxes your time zone by default -

@Tadano I'm almost certain I've done VOIP over one of them, probably Gajim. I've never gotten Element to reliably provide either, so it's kinda a moot point. Everyone I know on Matrix just uses a dedicated Jitsi server because integration with Element is such a clusterfuck and never seems to reliably work in that regard. @Inginsub @nasu
