  We went on a tramp in the Remutakas, almost all accessible by public transport (we needed to get a ride to Catchpool Valley). #tramping

  1. Our lodging for the night, the Haurangi Hut. A covered deck is the main feature visible, with ferns out front, but you can also see the main building itself behind the deck.

  2. Inside a typical larger NZ hut. There is a table to the right. In back to the left there is a cooking area with a metal counter; this hut comes with gas cookers and two kettles on the cookers. Copious windows provide a view from inside the hut.
