     well then there's very little public transit, you can't really walk most places, in fact you can't get to most places without a car...

     very hard to fathom all of this (i truly didn't get it until i moved here) without real life exposure to this country.

     the transit and car thing is also an anti-Black thing. i wish i was being hyperbolic.

     "Why do we have such a weird system of a Senate that has nothing to do with population and an Electoral College, when basically no other country has anything close to that?" Slavery

     "Why do all the mass transit lines avoid the nice neighborhoods?" Don't want to let 'the poors' in.

     "Why is there a line through each city where everything suddenly becomes 'dingy' and 'dangerous' just by crossing a street?" Red lining

     "Why did 'everyone' move way out to suburbs rather than just making nicer neighborhoods in the middle of town with shorter commutes?" School desegregation and white flight

     On and on

     @skinnylatte My guess is that most Europeans, unless they've visited here, likely don't really know just how big this country is. The shortest route between London and Paris is 455.52 km. The shortest route between San Francisco and Los Angeles (two cities within the same U.S. state) is 613.20 km.
