But due to the deep and creepy ATSC 3.0 encryption DRM which most stations doing ATSC 3.0 are enabling even on their main channel, most of them need Internet connections to work at all (to get the keys), which kinda blows away the whole point, even putting aside the way too high costs at this point.

I would imagine that those could be fairly small, USB powered, and inexpensive; or be built into things like Roku boxes with an antenna lug.

Oh, you didn't know that in just a few years everyone in the U.S. may have to get ALL NEW equipment to receive over the air broadcasts, and even most TVs you buy today wouldn't be capable of receiving them? Yep.
