    I am still seeing tons of articles in the mainstream media about how Democrats need to win back disaffected Trump voters. This is despite the data which clearly shows that Trump's vote did not increate significantly over 2020, but rather that Democratic voters voted in substantially smaller numbers.

    I see no articles about how Democrats need to energize their base to vote, which is what the data indicates. The mainstream narrative is pure bullshit.

      I should point out that the number one way mainstream journalists say Democrats should win back disaffected Trump voters is by abandoning progressive values.

      @dgoldsmith Of the 245 million eligible to vote, the largest portion didn’t vote - 36%. The remaining 64% were almost evenly split between R and D. The “horse race” reporting makes it seem like half the country when that’s not accurate. Over one third of the country is disaffected or disengaged (or encounters barriers). THAT is the space to work in.

      @StephanieMoore @dgoldsmith

      All this!! And on top of that, the largest group of all of US residents in this election was those not •eligible• to vote:

      …so (1) let’s not forget voter suppression here and (2) that says something about electoral mandate.
