@StevenSaus Ofcom and other regulators need to get to grips with this, and deal with these companies directly, in the meantime we need to continue to educate young people about this so they can deal with it, better, and also educate parents and and other adults in contact with children and young people so that they can help too.
According to one of the adverts for instagram on TV there are now better parental controls so that once set up, certain messages are blocked etc, so the tools seem to be there, it is up to people to set them up and use them in an effective way, so to be fair it is NOT really the job of social media companies to make people set these filters up, if the filters are effective, perhaps they can say the tools are there, did you use them, if not, why not ? if the content is there, did you report, if not why not ?
