@vantablack I think the big thing to remember is to be inspired by the work or by the story of the person or perhaps even the web of aesthetics and symbolism that surround the person, but to hold the boundary that those things aren't the person.

it's often said "don't meet your heroes" but i think the real takeaway should be "don't HAVE heroes"
it's fine to have people you look up to, whose works inspire you. but don't idolize them. don't put them on a pedestal and build them up to be this larger than life presence in your head. or you're just setting yourself up for inevitable heartbreak
nobody's perfect. not me, not you, and certainly not any favorite celebrity you might have. but power corrupts, and the more famous people get the more shitty they can get away with acting so
