Did you share this post without reading it? If so, you’re not alone.
A recent study analyzed 35 million news links shared on Facebook and discovered that over 75% were circulated without the links being clicked or the content being read. These links were shared more than 41 million times — a staggering number that sheds light on how social media encourages impulsive sharing rather than informed engagement.
What’s even more telling is the study’s breakdown of where these shares originated. Researchers noted that 76.94% of the links shared without being clicked came from conservative users, while 14.25% came from liberal users. Additionally, up to 82% of the links containing false information were traced back to conservative news domains.
