   Seriously tho, try it sometime:

   the next time someone starts shouting at you that for example, we cannot get rid of capitalism even though it's literally boiling the planet like soup and billions of people are going to die, just substitute "no slavery, no colony" and you'll get why it's utterly pointless to engage with their "logic."

     You can do this for all kinds of shit absolute muppets say to you and it'll keep you from losing your mind trying to "explain" why they're wrong. They know. It's not about reality, material conditions, facts on the ground, or right and wrong at all. It's about "if anything has to change I'd rather it burn to the ground."

     A whole lot of the people around you would have chanted "no slavery, no colony" and caught a bayonet for it during the Haitian Revolution.

     @AnarchoNinaWrites In addition to people never fundamentally questioning inculcated capitalist ideology, in conversations with several people I’ve found that what it comes down to for them is existential fear of the wealthy flipping the table on society, so they comply in advance. & they get mad at anyone who doesn’t.
