@nzakas I think a lot of people will miss the lessons out of that and choose to conclude that it's out of some kind of objectively moral position, as though "reducing friction" and "improving usage for a general audience" are somehow flawed objectives.

Zakas Ultimately, I think Mastodon will remain the choice of those for whom a truly federated solution matters. That fundamentally limits its growth potential as only the tiny minority that really care will put up with the friction.
Bluesky has far less friction and has the benefit of convenient sign up, discovery, and usage model. It’s much better suited to a general audience.
