   People need to know that Eugen is a divisive character among people who have been here since the beginning, and particularly among marginalized people. Don’t accept his opinions as gospel. I am more inclined to listen to the marginalized old timers.

     @Rachel_Thorn @lindsey I hear what you’re saying, but I also see BIPOC folks asking why they have to self-censor when discussing issues like institutional racism to avoid hurting white folks feelings. As a fairly privileged somebody, I’ll CW my own stuff, but I’m no longer comfortable policing others, and if somebody says something I think should be boosted, I’m not gonna hold CWs or a lack of against it.

     @ecsaln @Nezumi_Youjo I’m not sure if you’re joking, but Mastodon is free open-source software. There is no CEO. Eugen is the original author of the software.

     This random toot has gotten a lot of boosts for some reason, so I just want to make it clear that don't hate or having anything personal against Eugen. I just know what I hear from marginalized people who have worked with him.
