John Williams returns to the Gothic Palace to play one of the most celebrated virtuoso compositions for guitar: Asturias from Suite Española by Albeniz, a musical impression of the region on the northern coast of Spain. The Halls of Carlos V, as they are known today, were first remodeled in the thirteenth century and have had a connection with all Spanish monarchs to the present time. The royal family maintains the tradition by retaining a suite of private apartments in the Alcazar for use during their visits to Seville.
Did you know that world-famous guitarist John Williams and filmmaker Christopher Nupen studied classical guitar together and that Andrés Segovia was their teacher? Discover more in this documentary by Christopher Nupen about his colleague and friend on @allegrofilms : https://youtu.be/QwduGlFNjek
