   Privacy definition for a school student
   
   Privacy is the right to keep personal information and activities protected from others without permission. It allows you to control who knows what about you. Others can include family members, friends, strangers, organizations and companies.
   
   The right to privacy is referenced in Article 12 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

     Wanna see the definition of "Privacy" given by a law professor who deals with that? Find the book "Why Privacy Matters". I am quoting from memory here, but the author says something like: Privacy is the DEGREE to which human information is neither known nor used.

     "Privacy is the degree to which human information neither is known nor used. Human information confers power over humans.

     Because privacy is about power, we should think about it in terms of the rules that govern human information, rules that constrain and channel that power. Because human information rules of some sort are inevitable, we should think about privacy in instrumental terms to promote human values."
