   Parasocial relationships with politicians and parties are so fucking weird to me as someone who doesn't trust any of these people to look out for my interests.

     People have been giving me the "you'll understand when you're older" speech about politics and like, I'm 47 and maybe not long for this world. I've seen the fnords! None of these people impress me.

     Like, what motivates this? I get wishing someone would protect us from Trump and Republicans but it's clear Democrats can't even do that.

     I don't expect AOC to stab me in the back for no reason but she's not my friend either. I don't know her. I'm not even one of her constituents.
