     @cwebber I've been finding the people who defend using Bluesky infuriating for just this reason. Of course this was going to happen. Every commercial platform on the Internet is driven by advertising and data harvesting. That's where the funding comes from. That's why they're (temporarily) free. It's a trap, every time. We've seen it over and over.

     For all its many serious flaws, the Fediverse is one of a few holdouts. And it's under siege.
