   @KrissyKat Every election for the last 24 years has been characterized as some fight to stave off the end of the world, but I think there are several reasons to be optimistic too.

   I made a thread about it a few weeks ago. Trump can't be controlled, and all he cares about in the end is monetizing the presidency. As we saw during his first term, that can work against his ideological allies.

     Part of me thinks 2025 and onward might be like being on four years of probation that could be extended, depending on the oligarchy's whims.

     Also, I think of 1925 in Indiana when the defacto state gov't leader (wizard) imploded the majority party due to cruelty and greed.

     I'm optimistic for the future. We must be resilient. We must remember what happened past leaders who went down similar roads.
