     Wonder if they found people trying to game the system, or the first payments were just ad-hoc and they're having trouble making the numbers work

     This actually makes sense in a round about way: Paying for features you want is a lot more reasonable than paying for a symbol identifying you as having $8 and a phone number… but that's sure not how they pitched it
